"House of Cards" cast Corey Stoll's character might have had a dire ending courtesy of Frank Underwood, but the actor will be seen next in "The Strain" which premieres Sunday on FX. Meanwhile, the cast and crew of the Netflix political drama head to Maryland to film season 3 of the series.

In a report by EpochTimes, "House of Cards" cast Corey Stoll will play Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, a troubleshooter for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, who was called after a crate (which contains a virus) from a plane is missing.

"If the premiere begins with what seems like a nod to the bygone Fox series 'Fringe' (dead passengers on a plane) and ends with a fatherly homage to AMC's 'The Walking Dead,' Stoll vows that his show will blaze its own trail," the website said.

"House of Cards" cast Corey Stoll said: "I've never seen a lot of the stuff we'll be doing and there's a unique tone: a mix of goofiness and melancholy."

Often in his roles, his signature baldness is on full display, as with Peter Russo, the womanizing, drugs-abusing congressman in "House of Cards."

In stark contrast to the bald Peter Russo, the character of "House of Cards" cast Corey Stall in the Netflix drama, Ephraim Goodweather is sporting a chuck full of hair, although his forehead is quite high for such a thick hair.

"I enjoy having a mask. A wig helps put me in character," he said.

Meanwhile, according to AirHerald, the cast and crew of "House of Cards" is currently in Maryland to film season 3 of the series, however all those involved in production managed to keep the plot secret.

"House of Cards" season 3 writer Beau Willimon even refused to provide spoilers for the show.

The last time showrunner Beau Willimon was interviewed at the event sponsored by the Smithsonian Associates, he declined to give "House of Cards" season 3 spoilers. As infoZine reported, when fans asked for updates of the show, he replied, "hashtag shrug," referring to the Twitter jargon when sharing tweets.
