Awesome Pilot Buys Pizza For Passengers As Stranded Travelers Erupt In Applause When 50 Boxes Of Dominos’ Pizza Arrived On Plane!

Getting stranded on the runway is undoubtedly better when pizza makes its way to the plane.

A Frontier Airlines flight was hit with a last-minute delay due to Monday night's storms, but the plane's captain made sure that his passengers' hungry tummies are well taken care of.

The plane was bound for Denver from Washington, D.C., when severe thunderstorms forced it to divert and make a landing in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

After being stranded on the runway for an hour, pilot Gerhard Brandner made a surprising announcement, much to the delight of his 160 passengers.

"He said: 'Ladies and gentlemen, Frontier Airlines is known for being one of the cheapest airlines in the U.S., but your captain is not cheap... I just ordered pizza for the entire plane," passenger Logan Marie Torres told Fox 31.

Several minutes later, 50 boxes of pizzas were delivered to the plane while it stood on the tarmac.

Brandner, who paid for the pizza with his own money, said he was hungry when the plane touched down. He decided to call Dominos, and then proceeded to order enough pizza for the whole plane.

The pilot told 9News that when he announced over the speaker that the pizzas were coming, he heard the whole plane erupting into applause. Brander, however, didn't got the chance to eat with the passengers because he was busy reprogramming the plane's computers for the flight to Denver.

"If the need arises you need to take care of your family; you need to take care of your passengers. They are my responsibility the moment they step on the aircraft until they get off the aircraft," Brander said.

The passengers and crew left Cheyenne at 10:30 p.m. with full stomachs, arriving in Denver some 15 minutes later, according to Flightaware.com.
