Brazil's star player, Neymar, went back to his team's training camp after breaking a vertebra which caused his 2014 World Cup dream to end. Neymar walked unaided to see and greet his team mates who were busy training and practicing for their third place game against Netherlands.
It has been reported that Neymar challenged Colombia's Juan Zuniga during the 88th minute. He was aiming to catch the ball facing it when Zuniga came in running at the back and hitting his right knee on his vertebrae. The Brazilian super star, ploughed to the ground and was seen writhing in pain. He was then stretchered off from the field and into the locker room where he was checked.
Neymar wore his Brazil t-shirt with autograph from other players in a conference. He talked about the worst week of his life as well as the issue with regards to his injury. According to Neymar, Zuniga has already called him to apologize and that he forgave him. He said "I don't know if he was trying to hurt me, but if you understand football you know that it was not a normal challenge,'' Neymar said. If it had been 2 centimeters to the center, I could be in a wheelchair."
IT has also been reported that Neymar was at home watching the game against Germany and it was reported that he turned his TV off when Germany scored their 7th goal. Now that his team is out of the finals, he is now rooting for his other team mates, Lionle Messi and Javier Mascherano to win the championships. "'I'm not cheering for Argentina; I'm cheering for my teammates. He deserves to be a world champion. I'm Messi Football Club."
The 22 year old star has been recovering at his home after suffering an injury to his back. Neymar is currently signed with FC Barcelona and according to them their medical staff has already checked him and that they remain positive that he will be fit for the start of the new La Liga season on August 23.
According to his club "The player is recovering well and he'll continue his recovery in Barcelona starting on August 5."
