32 year old Holly Holm has finally signed a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. UFC President Dana White held up a signed contract of Holm as well as a twitter post by the president confirms Holm's UFC career.
Lenny Fresquez, Holm's manager, said that the new MMA fighter will see a doctor next Tuesday for her final prognosis. Fresquez is estimating that Holm will make her UFC debut around late October or early November but she won't be competing for a title shot.
Holm made her MMA debut on March 2011 where she defeated Christina Domke by leg kicks in the second round. Later on the same month, Rousey made her pro MMA debut by submitting Ediane Gomes with an arm bar in just 25 seconds of the first round.
Holm possesses a 33-2-3 professional boxing record with multiple world titles in her belt. Since her transfer to MMA, she has been undefeated with six of her seven wins coming by way of knockout. Currently she is the first current Legacy FC women's bantamweight champion. Aside from that, Holm has been regarded as one of the best female fighters at 135 pounds. She has a perfect 7-0 record in MMA.
Her last match was on April 4, 2014 where she faced Juliana Werner for the inaugural Legacy FC Women's Bantamweight Championship. Holm broke her arm in the first round but went ahead and won the game via TKO in the fifth round due to a head kick and punches.
Rousey seems like the top contender to beat the woman's UFC title and now that Holly Holm have decided to sign a contract with UFC, a lot are speculating on a match between two great fighters. But a bout between Rosusey and Holm make take a while as Rousey should still be recuperating after injury while Holm would still need to work on her technique to face her matches.
At present, Holm is training at Jackson-Winkeljohn gym in Albuquerque, N.M.. It is the same training camp for light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, welterweight contender Carlos Condit, lightweight Donald Cerrone, and many other notables. UFC fans are will be watching this new UFC star in the rising.
