An escort accused of killing Google executive, Forrest Hayes, has been charged with manslaughter, four drug-related felonies and three misdemeanors of prostitution and destroying evidence, according to the LA Times.
26-year-old Alix Tichelman allegedly had an "ongoing prostitution relationship" with the 51-year-old Hayes.
The former Apple, Google, and Sun Microsystems engineer died on his 50-foot yacht last November, reportedly in the presence of Tichelman. Police say Tichelman injected herself with heroin and then administered a dose to Hayes, who slipped into unconsciousness and collapsed.
As the former Google executive was dying, Alix Tichelman allegedly cleaned up the scene, picking up her needles and fixing up the bed, then finishing a glass of wine.
"She's cold. Ice cold. The only person Alix Tichelman cares about is Alix Tichelman," stated Santa Cruz police Deputy Chief Steve Clark.
Police say Tichelman tried to wipe her prints off the glass and closed the yacht blinds so no one would be able to see inside.
Clark told The Associated Press that Hayes had hired Tichelman before, and that their November 23 encounter "was a mutually consensual encounter including the introduction of heroin."
Tichelman was arrested on July 4 after police said a detective lured her back to the Santa Cruz area by posing as a potential client, according to the publication Tech Firstpost.
Clark reportedly stated that Tichelman said she had other clients from Silicon Valley, other than Forrest Hayes.
Tichelman's arraignment in Santa Cruz is scheduled for July 16.
After Hayes' death, police in Georgia have reportedly decided to reexamine the case of 53-year-old Dean Riopelle, president of the Masquerade club, who died of an accidental heroin and alcohol overdoes in Atlanta in 2012.
"There's a pattern of behavior here where she doesn't seek help when someone is in trouble," Clark stated.
