Radiohead's guitarist Jonny Greenwood officially announced that the band will be rehearsing and recording its ninth studio album in September.
"We're going to start up in September, playing, rehearsing and recording and see how it's sounding," Greenwood said during Mary Anne Hobbes' BBC 6Music show on July 12, according to Billboard.
There had been speculation that Radiohead would start working on their new album since earlier this year. Greenwood's brother, Colin, had told Nashville Cream that the band intended to get back together at the end of the summer to "make a plan" for the follow up to 2011's "The King of Limbs," according to DIY Magazine.
"But, you know, we're a slow-moving animal, always have been. I guess we'll decide then what we do next," Greenwood had stated.
The members of Radiohead have continued with their solo projects after the release of their most recent album. "The King of Limbs" was a success, debuting at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
Thom Yorke recorded music with his band Atoms For Peace while Jonny Greenwood reportedly scored Paul Thomas Anderson's 2012 film, "The Master" as well as Anderson's upcoming movie, "Inherent Vice."
Drummer Phil Selway will reportedly be dropping his second solo album in October, after Radiohead gets together to begin recording their new album.
