It's likely Rosario Dawson is Elektra in the upcoming "Daredevil" series for Netflix; at the very least, she'll play a character significant enough to affect the Hell's Kitchen of Matt Murdock.
All bets are off when it comes to casting characters in the Marvel Universe, and plenty of unexpected actors put a twist in the graphic novel characters. Some are disappointing (think Ben Affleck), while others are downright revolutionary; who would've expected Samuel Jackson's Pulp Fiction fresh mouth would fit into the Nick Fury character?
"Daredevil" is now a confirmed Netflix series, and even though it's still scheduled for a 2015 run, the rumor mill as already busy pegging the actor to play Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil's love interest.
Rosario Dawson is already confirmed as part of the cast, but it's yet to be revealed which character she'll play in the series. A Tweet could ease the speculation once and for all, though.

DeKnight's vague response isn't exactly a confirmation Rosario Dawson is Elektra, but the anticipation of the fan base should be enough to give producers the go signal to do so.
It's a relief to know Elektra is seriously being considered for casting, although minor characters are also rumored to play a bigger part in Hell's Kitchen. A recent Marvel press release hints at Dawson's character, which may (or may not ) describe the sai-wielding assassin.
"[She] will play a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell's Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city."
If ever Elektra's written into the series, it's likely producers have learned their lesson that some characters need to be overhauled to click on adaptations, case in point Jennifer Gardner.
Rosario Dawson as Elektra remains a serious possibility, but Marvel TV Head Jeph Loeb confirms the actor's character will be vital to the vigilante's development: "Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock's journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil." (moviepilot.com)
