It was the game that football fans have been waiting for, the finale game for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The top two competitors who faced each other fought and won several games from the knockouts to the quarterfinals, semis and now here they were facing each other for the last game of World Cup. Germany and Argentina faced each other for the finale of the World Cup. This is the second time in the World Cup history that both teams faced each other. The first was during the 1990 World Cup where Germany won other Argentina in a clean 1-0 victory. And it seemed like history repeated itself as after twenty four long years, they faced each other again in the finale and coincidentally, Germany won over Argentina in a 1-0 finish. But this time around, the game did not end on the full time but rather after the extra time.

Both Germany and Argentina fans were present at the Estádio Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro. Red, yellow, black and blue colors were scattered all around the stadium cheering for their team who are making their way to the field. Every time a player will make their way into the penalty box, fans can be heard cheering for their team to make a goal. But due to tight defense from both ends, the first had ended with no visible chance of a goal from both teams.

The second half seemed promising as Argentina has worked on their offense and defense. The second half was Argentina's game but in the end, there were still no clear score from both teams. The full time ended with the final score 0-0.

It was then that the game was given an extra time. The first half of the extra time had to events but it was in the second half of the extra time that the crowd had the goal that they have been waiting for. It happened in the 113th minute when German attacking midfielder Mario Götze finally made the single most important goal for the team. Gotze received the ball inside the penalty box, had the ball to his chest then passed to his feet then shoot the ball at the right side.

The crowd goes wild as this means that there were only seven more minutes left for Argentina to tie the score, but the minute's trickled by so quickly. Even after an additional 2 minutes, Argentina was not able to secure a goal. The last whistle heard which only meant the end of the World Cup games and the emergence of a new World Cup Champion, Germany.
