Luiz Felipe Scolari Sacked as Brazil Coach

It seems like that finishing fourth place was not good enough for the Brazilians as reports emerge that Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has been axed from his coaching job.

It can be remembered that Brazil lost two of their last games. One during the semi finals facing Germany which was a devastating loss of the team as the game ended with a 7-1 score. Their next game was against Netherlands for the third place which was much better than the previous game that ended in a 3-0 finish.

When the team loses over Netherlands for the third place, Scolari said that he would leave his fate up to the federation. He said "That has to be decided by the president of the confederation. When we started we had a deadline to make our jobs available at the end of the World Cup regardless of the result and that is exactly what we're going to do with a final report for the president."

Scolari led Brazil to their last World Cup title in 2002. This was his first coaching stint for the national team. When he returned to replace former coach Mano Menezes in 2012, he successfully led the team to win last summer's Confederations Cup.

Scolari said "We didn't have great performances but we were reaching our goals. We still finished in the top four. I don't think we can't criticize the national team."

But aside from Scolari, another key player in the Brazil team was made a scapegoat for the team's performance and that is none other than striker Fred. He officially announced his resignation from the team saying "I am finished with the Selecao (national team)."

Fred fear happened when he was booed every time his face is shown on the big screen saying "We were not good in the last two games, But no single person was responsible for that. What I can say is that it was not only Fred's fault."

Both Fred and Scolari will be out of the Brazil team and the now former coach words will sting ring into the federations' ears "My life goes on regardless." Life goes on for Fred, life goes on for Scolari and so will the life of the Selecao Team.
