The upcoming Batman TV series entitled "Gotham" will be premiering at the San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Fans of this new show, which is a prequel to the whole Batman story can meanwhile enjoy the trailer that was released by Fox.
We see in the trailer a familiar scene, a young Bruce Wayne's (played by David Mazouz) witnesses the cold-blooded murder of his parents. It's the moment in life that serves as the catalyst in his journey to becoming the Batman. We also see the very pivotal role that Jim Gordon (played by Ben McKenzie) plays in Bruce Wayne's life.
There are hints in the Gotham TV series trailer that the Gotham plot will differ significantly from the movie version, Batman Begins. The killer of young Bruce Wayne seems to be not just some thug in the street out for a quick buck. There are darker elements and conspiracies that seem to be behind the random act of violence.
Another Gotham TV series trailer that Fox has released gives a sneak peek at behind-the-scenes footage, plus writer-producer Bruno Heller explaining the theme and overall atmosphere that can be expected from Gotham.
This new Batman series will take fans even deeper into the fascinating world of the caped crusader. According to the official description, it will follow "the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham famous." The pilot episode will explore the investigation Gordon undertook of the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne, written by Bruno Heller (The Mentalist).
Fox's Gotham also stars Robin Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, Sean Pertwee as the butler Alfred Pennyworth, Camren Bicondova as Selian Kyle. It is directed by Danny Cannon (Judge Dredd).
Expect the entire cast to be present at Gotham's premiere of its pilot episode at the San Diego Comic-Con 2014.
