The NBC musical special, "Peter Pan Live!" just got even better.
NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt announced at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills yesterday that Christopher Walken will be playing Captain Hook in the upcoming production, according to Access Hollywood.
"We are absolutely delighted that Christopher Walken will be putting his unique stamp on Captain Hook for our holiday musical event, 'Peter Pan Live!,'" stated Greenblatt in a statement.
He added, "He's not only one of the most versatile actors in our business, but his love of musicals and uncanny abilities as a dance make him perfect for stepping into this classic James M. Barrie character. Get ready to be charmed, amused, frightened and dazzled by Caption Hook in an entirely original way."
NBC's "Peter Pan Live!" will air on December 4, according to the NY Daily News.
Greenblatt also announced on Sunday that the casting decisions for the other characters would be announced soon.
Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, who were recognized for their work on "The Sound of Music," which starred Carrie Underwood, will produce the show.
Christopher Walken has confirmed that he will be the "first tap-dancing Captain Hook" this holiday season.
"I started my career in musicals and it's wonderful after all this time, at this point in my career, to be in this classical musical I watched as a child - and to work with Neil Meron and Craig Zadan again after 'Hairspray.' It's a chance to put on my tap shoes again," commented Walken.
