Ariana Grande Tweets ‘Sam & Cat’ Cancellation; Feud Rumors With Co-Star Resurfaces

Singer Ariana Grande posted a message on her Twitter account following the announcement that her show, "Sam & Cat," is being canceled before the end of its first season.

"I felt it wasn't my place to make any sort of announcement so I kept quiet until now. I want to thank Nickelodeon for making a childhood dream of mine come true, for being a family to me, for being so accommodating and supportive of my music career, and for of course introducing me to many of my fans however many years ago," tweeted Grande, according to ABC News.

Ariana Grande, who played Cat, thanked the creator of "Sam & Cat," Dan Schnieder, as well as the cast and crew. The "Problem" singer noticeably didn't mention her co-star Jennette McCurdy, further fueling rumors that the two have had conflicts in the past.

Earlier this year, rumors reportedly circulated of a rift between Grande and McCurdy, as well as friction on the set due to the show's demanding 40-episode production schedule.

The show was put on hiatus in April, which is when Grande decided to address the rumors about conflict with her "Sam & Cat" co-star.

"Jennette and I agreed upfront that we would be treated equally on this show in all regards (as we should be, considering we work just as hard as the other on this show). The rumors circulating about our contracts and our salary not being equal are absolutely ridiculous and false," Grande had tweeted.

Deadline Hollywood reported on Sunday that Nickelodeon has canceled the show with four episodes remaining to be shot. The 36th episode was announced to be the show's finale.

"Nickelodeon will not be producing more episodes of 'Sam & Cat.' We are very proud of the show and its very talented cast and we wish them all the best," the network said in a statement to Deadline.
