Singer Cheryl Cole has announced last Sunday that she married French restaurateur Jean Fernandez-Versini in a secret ceremony on a Caribbean island.

The 31-year-old pop star took to Instagram to share the wonderful news, complete with a shot of her huge wedding ring. She captioned it, "I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news... Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14.. We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together.."

According to UK news website Mirror, the nuptials was kept tightly under wraps, with only four guests in attendance. Cole's mother, Joan Callaghan and PA Lily England were among those who witnessed the wedding on a beach in Mustique.

Cole's marriage comes as a surprise since the pair had only been dating for three months. They made their public debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Reports from the European media say that Fernandez-Versini was eager to marry the Girls Aloud singer two months into their relationship. Prior to the wedding, he had already moved into Cheryl's UK pad last month. "He's a very impulsive guy," a source told The Mirror. "He thinks the two of them are perfect together and would love to marry her. To people who don't know him it might seem rushed, but he's a passionate Frenchman-he wears his heart on his sleeve."

Meanwhile, Cole is said to be so in love with her new husband that she is already talking about starting a family with him.

Before dating the 33-year-old Fernandez-Versini, the X-Factor UK judge was entangled with dancer Tre Holloway but they broke it off in October 2013 after a 14-month relationship.

She was also previously married to soccer player Ashley Cole from 2006 to 2010. They divorced after Cole cheated on Cheryl with a number of women.
