In weird news 2014, a 3-year old girl in the Philippines had reportedly woken up in her own funeral after being pronounced dead due to Pneumonia.
The wake of the girl created quite a commotion from among the family's neighbors in the town Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur when the she allegedly came to life when her head moved on Sunday while mourners opened her wooden coffin to fix her remains in preparation for funeral service inside the church.
The girl, was clinically pronounced dead over the weekend after experiencing a severe fever for days and was brought to the clinic in the town for medical attention on Friday. During the service the following day, mourners saw her head move.
"This prompted them to check and confirmed the girl had a pulse and was alive," Teelan said. A viral video shows the parents of the girl removing her from her wooden coffin.
Imagine the shock of everyone when while mourning the death of the toddler she suddenly was 'reanimated' to life! The toddler's identity has not been released to protect the family's privacy.
"During that time, the attending clinic personnel and physician confirmed that the young patient had no more pulse and was clinically dead last Saturday morning about 9 a.m.," Senior Inspector Heidil Teelan, Aurora Police chief, said.
The girl was then given some water and brought to the clinic for a check-up and the intial belief was that the girl gained consciousness from some sort of comatose state.
However, most recent reports indicate that the 3-year old girl was really dead and had not come to life contrary to the belief of the family, a police official said on Tuesday.
A municipal health officer made the confirmation about 10 a.m. Monday after conducting a personal examination of the girl at their house. It was reported that the girl had succumbed from pneumonia and died when she was rushed to the town's clinic for medical attention.
"The municipal health officer formally conducted the examination right at the house of the young girl and confirmed (her death) as of 10 a.m. Monday," Teelan said, also adding that there is no confirmation that the girl really came to life.
"The family was really sad about the death of the young girl and the neighborhood was also baffled of the story," the police added.
