Breaking Bad Spin Off: Better Caul Saul New Cast Members Announced; Breaking Bad Characters' Cameos Highly Likely

Better Call Saul, the spin off of the highly successful series, Breaking Bad, has confirmed new cast members who will be joining the show.

They will be joining actors from the original Emmy award winning Breaking Bad series, Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks.

Michael McKean (from the movie This Is Spinal Tap) will play Chuck, Rhea Seehorn will play Kim, Patrick Fabian will play Hamlin and Michael Mando will play Nacho.

Michael McKean is set to play the brother of Bob. "We have these two comedy legends working together. He's playing Saul's brother. He's one of the main characters we've introduced. He's just a tremendous performer and he also answers questions about 'Spinal Tap'."

Of course, comparisons between characters of the original series and this brand new spin-off are inevitable. Particularly, the character to be played by Rhea Seehorn, who will surely be held against the indomitable character of Skyler White, played by Anna Gunn in Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan said in jest, "[I] will never write less-than-perfect women again."

"Rhea, she is just as cute as she can be and just a wonderful funny actress and capable a great deal of depth," Gilligan elaborates.

As for Better Call Saul's storyline, it will be non-linear and flexible. Executive Producer Peter Gould, in an interview with New York Daily News said that the spinoff could possibly include scenes that happen during the Breaking Bad timeline. And if this is so, fans could reasonably expect to see Bran Cranston as Walter White once more.

He also talks about the possibilities of having Breaking Bad characters appear on the spinoff. "One of the great things about having a timeline which is flexible is that perhaps some of it takes place before Breaking Bad, during Breaking Bad, and after Breaking Bad," Gould said, "That gives us the ability to bring back characters that were killed on Breaking Bad."

Better Call Saul will have 10 episodes in the first season, and have also been given the go-ahead for a 13-episode second season.
