According to the England coach Gary Neville, it is impossible for the team to replicate Germany's strategies, tactics, and model to win the World Cup. England was eliminated from the tournament after two Group D games. Germany coach Joachim Low said that the team's victory on Sunday was a result of a 10-year project to develop and prepare the athletes.
"People who write - 'England should follow the German route' are oblivious to the obstacle or believe in magic wands!" as tweeted by Neville. He said that it would be great to follow Germany's course, but they will need weather like that of Spain's in order to train their players in such manner.
England lost their two opening group games against Italy and Uruguay at the tournament before coming back home goalless after a draw against Costa Rica. "We are going to have to find our way of doing it because the system we have doesn't allow us to adopt the German route in its entirety," said Neville. "I'm confident the mountain is starting to move. But it's a slow shift and results will take time but I see things happening behind the scenes."
Germany's victory and astounding teamwork gave a lot of people, country, and teams something to look forward to for the next World Cup. They have set the bars high and inscribed their names on the sporting history. Their triumph brought inspiration to many and this will empower athletes to prepare and train harder for the future.
