"Rosie and Alex are best friends," the third teaser for "Love, Rosie" begins. "And that's the problem."
Lily Collins and Sam Claflin, two of Hollywod's most promising young stars, are lifelong best friends with secret feelings for each other in the new "Love, Rosie" trailer. Constantin Films released the third teaser last July 8.
Based on Irish writer Cecilia Ahern's best selling novel in 2004, "Where Rainbows End," the "Love, Rosie" trailer shows close friends Rosie (Collins) and Alex (Claflin) go through life as friends who "just can't get themselves together."
Cecilia Ahern also wrote the original novel for the tear jerker "P.S. I Love You" released in 2007. It stars Gerard Butler and Hillary Swank.
From being inseparable five-year-old children, they face the dsitance of a whole ocean when Alex moves to Boston for college. They face problems as simple as hormonal changes, to more complicated life challenges like unplanned pregnancies, marriage (to someone else), infidelity, divorce, and long distance relationships.
The original novel told the story of the two friends in an unconventional manner. The reader gets to know and sympathize with the characters as the the characters' stories shape up through letters, texts, emails, chatroom conversations, and newspaper clippings.
"I've realized," Rosie says in the trailer (to Alex presumably). "No matter where you, or who you're with, I will always, truly, completely love you."
According to Constantin Film's Youtube channel, "'Love, Rosie' is a sassy, heart-warming, and utterly modern comedy-of-errors tale posing the ultimate question: Do we really only get one shot at true love?"
The teaser promises both witty dialogue and emotional moments that Collins and Claflin seem to easily pull off.
The Christian Ditter-directed film will be released in the UK on October 24. A release date for the US, however, has not been announced as of the moment.
A new poster was also released, along with the two-minute teaser. Watch the "Love, Rosie" trailer below.
