Former Miss America Vanessa Williams Sexually Molested At Age 10; Actress Reveals Childhood Pain

Former Miss America Vanessa Williams recently opened up about how being sexually molested at the age of 10 affected her throughout her life on Oprah Winfrey's "Oprah's Master Class."

The actress opened up about the vacation she took with a friend's family that introduced her to sexual curiosity and promiscuity at an early age, according to NY Daily News.

"We ended up staying with a family friend of theirs. They had an older daughter. She was one of the cool girls. . . She made you want to feel like you were a grown-up," explained Williams, who became Miss America in 1983.

The "Ugly Betty" actress continued, "She told me to lie down on the floor. She took my bottoms off and she said, 'Be quiet.' She went down on me."

Vanessa Williams recalled during the interview that at age 10, she didn't understand what was happening to her. The "older daughter" was reportedly 18-years-old when she snuck into Williams' room that night.

"I had no idea what it was, but I knew it felt good. I knew it felt good, but (was) also something that was not supposed to be happening," stated the former Miss America.

After the incident, Williams was unable to tell her parents what had happened because there had been a family tragedy when she returned from the trip, according to The Inquisitr.

"I saw my dad's face and his face was gray. And I just found out that his brother had died. That was a family drama. I never really talked to my dad about it. I kind of suppressed it," stated 51-year-old Williams.

The former model reflected on how that incident changed the way she experienced sex as a teen and as an adult.

"It awakens your sexuality at an age where it shouldn't be awakened. Had that not happened in my life and had I had an opportunity to have a normal courtship with a boyfriend at 16 or whatever. There wouldn't have been that shame that was always haunting me. It made me more sexually promiscuous and more sexually curious at a younger age than I should have been," stated Williams.
