NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, came up with an idea that had several media members, scratching their heads, baffled. At the Las Vegas Summer League, Silver announced his proposal for a midseason tournament in the NBA.

Silver conceptualized an idea that the mid tournament would be best to take place in Las Vegas. The tournament would be a short-cut for the teams to win a much-coveted trophy, beyond the NBA Championship.

Silver has not cleared up how this system may be implemented. The NBA covers a wide basketball league. Allowing international teams to play against the NBA teams would likely result in the foreign teams, losing big-time, but may do so, in a draw.

A local basketball tournament that bears similarity to the FA Cup in England, may just allow the U.S. to meet against the teams from the lower division in the United States. On the other hand, it was not cleared up if that included D-League or a college team.

The possible tournament can make the match between the NBA players become more challenging, either in regional make-up or in current team. The tournament ideas need a lot of tweaking in order to come out with minimal flaws.

Silver also commended the return of Le Bron James at the Cleveland Cavaliers. The commissioner reiterated that his comeback would bring in several benefits for the team, in general. An article from Time.com has stated that Le Bron may possibly make up Cleveland's economy $500 million.

Silver also expressed his uncertainty of the turnover of the L.A. Clippers by next year, the NBA's awards show pushing through in Vegas and if the league would actually prefer to make use of their offsite instant replay center by September.
