The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will meet the quartet of Ghostbusters in a new comic book series by IDW Publishing scheduled to be released before 2014 ends.
Behind the Panels reported that IDW Publishing have done comic crossovers for just this year combining "The X-Files" with the "Ghostbusters," "Transformers," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "The Crow". And since the "Ghostbusters" comic series is now over, IDW Publishing decided to publish the Turtles' jump in the world of the human Ghostbusters in a 4-issue mini series dubbed "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbuster."
The Teenager Mutant Ninja Turtles-meet-Ghostbusters series will be written by Tom Waltz and Erik Burnham, IDW stated on its website. Waltz and Burnham also worked in separate TMNT and Ghostbusters series.
Dan Shoening, a long-time artist for Ghostbusters will lend a hand in the illustrations, while a subscription variant will be designed by T-Rex Jones.
In other news, IDW also ssecured the license to create the first ever comic book miniseries for the 1990 Tim Burton character Edward Scissorhands! According to Comic Book Resources, the mini-series will be released in five-issues and will be written by Kate Leth and illustrated by Gabriel Drew Rausch. Cover and subscription variants will be made by Gabriel Rodriguez and Gabriel Hardman, respectively.
"Working on a new story is always exciting," Rausch said in a statement. "Having the opportunity to tell the next chapter for one of the best movies to come from the imagination of such an incredible influence in your artistic life is like a fairy tale come true! Having such a great fondness for this movie, I know that the story Kate, Sarah and I came up with is going to be 'shear' enjoyment for all types of fans!"
Both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters and Edward Scissorhands comic book series are 32-page long and will be released on October for $3.99. Cover Variants are available for comic book subscribers only.
