It's either Floyd Mayweather Jr is playing the offensive card or he simply just don't know, the 37 year old fighter has talked to reporters saying he does not know Ronda Rousey. The worst of it is that he thought of Rousey as a male fighter and when reporters corrected him of this, he seems to not mind at all.
The 37 year old MMA fighter talked to reporters in a quick stop on his media tour to promote his September match with Marcos Maidana. Rousey has said in previous reports that she thinks that she can take on Mayweather inside the octagon. Even UFC President Dana White agrees that Rousey can win the fight against him and may hurt him badly.
But instead of commenting further, Mayweather opted to talk about his pending rematch with Maidana. It can be remembered that Mayweather won by majority decision though one of the judges called it a draw.
Mayweather said "The fight went the way it went because he's a dirty fighter." And when asked about the referee's decision during the match the said "I don't have anything negative to say about the ref. He's only human. He can have a bad night, 'cause he's only human. We all have bad days. That probably wasn't one of his best days. But the referee -- he's still a great referee. I take my hat off to him. I commend the ref."
According to Mayweather, iorder to survive a dirty game, you need to "protect yourself at all times." He said "And that's what I did with Marcos Maidana."
Aside from talking about the fight, Mayweather also reiterated that one of his ultimate goals was to fight in New York City. But he still enjoys fighting in Las Vegas saying "there's nothing like a Las Vegas-Mayweather weekend. You get a chance to do a little bit of everything. And it's nothing but the biggest and the best stars come out, and everybody comes to the event and enjoys themselves. That's what it's all about."
His next fight will be on September 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and this will be Mayweather's fourth of a six-fight contract with Showtime/CBS.
