If you prefer a player full of mysteries, Dante Exum, Utah's newbie rookie, may not be the top player of your choice. Once you get to know him, though, you'll find that the mysteries he's got are admirable ones.
If you take the time to ask Exum a question, you'll find he would answer you in a straightforward way. Beating around the bush, something that's typical in the NBA sometimes, is very unlikely of Exum.
Spectators and sports specialist have not exactly given Exum the credit he deserved. Onlookers seemed to have never noticed the potentials Exum's got.
Exum said about the situation, in a recent interview after a practice session at the Las Vegas Summer League:
"I haven't played a full game...a legit game since last year"
He further added that,
"It was good. I know a lot of people criticize it because I wasn't playing games, but I was working on my game - working on little aspects that needed working on. You see in the NBA season and college seasons there isn't a lot of individual work and it's just game play. It was good to just have a year of working on that before I head into a lot of games."
Because not too many critics see a future for Exum's career, questions as to how Exum can progress in his NBA career remains a mystery.
He is taking things light-heartedly, though, saying:
"I just look at it as if they could say good things about me, or I could be this or that but it's in my hands," Exum says. "I'm the controller of that. So whatever they are trying to predict it doesn't mean anything. I'm the controller."
