Louis van Gaal, looking forward to the Challenges of Coaching Manchester United

Right after taking a two day off, Manchester United coach, Louis Van Gaal has talked to the press saying that he is looking forward to the challenges that coaching the "biggest club of the world" saying "When there is a challenge like this, I never let it go" adding "This is a holiday for me. I like the way I can work." Van Gaal also coached the Netherland National team and was able to bring home the third place trophy of the World Cup.

With that in mind, the 62 year old Van Gaal is now surveying his team and their performance in knowing how his performance can affect the team in general. He said "Within two days I know already how important Manchester United is but also how important the sponsors are." He added "This club is ... guided in a commercial way and we have to fulfill that. It's not always possible to fulfill the commercial expectations (and) the football expectations. That is my big challenge after two days."

Van Gaal has often been seen by media with a large ego but during the said conference, the experience Van Gaal showed reporters his more rounded personality. "I'm a democratic and empathetic human being. Of course I have a strong personality but the other characteristics are more important." He continued "The media wants to show (the autocratic) part of the personality but that part is (very small). When it is repeated always then everybody thinks like that. Autocratic and a strong personality is not the same."

Van Gaal is faced with a couple of challenges after the team crashed under the hands of Moyes. According to him, he wont be able to give predictions for the team incoming games as he knew that there are a lot of expectations but he is looking forward to the challenges that it will bring. He also talked about how he will be able to make the players work hand in hand with him as the coach." 'I have to see how the players perform my philosophy and how quick they can pick up this philosophy. For me the challenge is always first - not fourth - but ... it's dependable on the lock between the players and the coach."
