The "Orange is the New Black" actor got negative remarks on Twitter after his Jason Biggs' Malaysia Airlines joke hours after flight MH17 was downed in Ukraine, E! Online said.
Jason Biggs' Malaysia Airlines joke pertained to the downed MH17 plane that was shot down with 295 passengers on Thursday.
Jason Biggs took to Twitter his joke saying, "Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?"
Jason Biggs Malaysia Airlines joke was followed by another tweeted, "In all seriousness, tho- HOW DO YOU MISTAKENLY SHOOT DOWN A COMMERCIAL PLANE?! Ugh."
But social media users did not seem to like the supposed joke of the 36-year-old actor and fired him criticisms of being insensitive, Huffington Post said.
Realizing that he made a wrong move, he then tweeted, "Hey all you "too soon" assholes- it's a fucking joke. You don't have to think it's funny, or even be on my twitter page at all."
He said in a series of tweets that Malaysia Airlines is a "great airline" and he also shares his condolences with the victim's kin for the tragedy.
"The idea that I wouldn't have any empathy 4 the victims or their families because I make a joke is absolutely ridiculous. U know that, right?" he said.
"Truly- you losers are literally trying to find shit to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere," Jason Biggs added.
Meanwhile, Hollywood stars also expressed their deepest sympathy for the victim's kin.
Khloe Kardashian tweeted, "My thoughts and prayers are with the passengers of Malaysian Airlines flight #MH17 and their families. May everyone rest in peace. Please #PrayForMH17."
"Praying for the families and friends of the 295 people who passed in the Malaysia Airlines plane crash. May god grant them peace to grieve," Kourtney Kardashian meanwhile said.
"I Need You" singer LeAnn Rimes said, "Such a tragedy, Malaysian Airlines. Many prayers for everyone effected."
