Manuel Neuer, World Cup 2014 Champion and receiver of the Golden Glove award this year is really just the best goalkeeper in the whole world. If you're not convinced yet, maybe this video can help you see what you are missing.
The 28-year-old German player has proved his might especially during the previous World Cup in Brazil. According to Fifa, Neuer has an 86.2% save rate, and an 82.2% passes completion rate for the said tournament.
He does more than blocking the ball. If he can, he will deliver it right on the Germany's goal doorstep. He has unbelievable reflexes, and he dominates the penalty area every time, too.
He also plays for the Bayern Munich football club.
When asked about Germany's championship in the previous World Cup, he said this:
"It's absolutely unbelievable. The main thing is of course that we were successful as a team. It's incredible, we really are world champions now.
"A dream has come true for us Germans and we've finally won the trophy again. We've wanted it for so long. It was our time again. Everyone gave their all to be able to win it and I think we deserved to too. It's still not completely sunk in yet."
He remains humble even after garnering the Golden Glove award.
Now when asked about his performance in the tournament, he said this:
"Of course I'm happy with the way I played and I know I've had a good tournament, but that's only secondary. The main thing for me is that the team's success is always more important.
"I know that I'm nothing without my team-mates. At the end of the day I was only able to have such a good World Cup because of the people in front of me on the pitch, so my thanks go to them that I could play so well and receive this award."
