In a match between the San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz, Melvin Ejim needed to watch from the sidelines as the game got underway.
Ejim only had 4:48 of minutes to play as the first half gets underway. He had his great moments at the second quarter's final minutes. His 3-pointer was the only shot he's made the entire game. He was active despite not scoring anything for the rest of the game.
The Jazz scored a 35-36 during the initial part of the game. The competition got excitingly close during the second half going into the latter three minutes. Ejim was not part of any of the action, as he sat on the sideline, resting after sustaining an injury.
The question now lies whether or not the team will give Ejim a chance. The match with the San Antonio Spurs could have served as a great opportunity for Ejim to showcase what he's got.
In a recent interview, Ejim had this to say about how his team's tight unification:
"Because we have a different team we are going to have new strengths. I think we will still shoot the ball but anticipate more baskets being scored on the inside"
He also praised his team's coach with these comments:
"Coach Fred does a great job of promoting confidence within his players, allowing guys to play freely within the system. I think one thing he enjoys is helping players improve with their jump shot. He takes time to work with each player on their mechanics and improving their jump shot"
