Every year the ESPY awards celebrates the best and brightest in the world of sports. This year the event was held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, with the rapper Drake as host.
The ESPY, which stands for Excellent Sports Performance Yearly awards is hosted by the ESPN network, and there were several highlights from the event.
First off, Drake's hosting skills were received with overall glowing reviews, even though it was the rapper's first time to host such an awards show.
Much of Drake's hosting material was culled from the biggest sporting news of the year: LeBron James's big decision to go back to the Clevland Cavaliers, and the recently concluded World Cup finals. He also poked fun at embattled Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
The singer also used his musical skills to dish out parodies of famous sports names. His musical number, "Worst Behavior," was directed at Sterling's infamous racist comments, while the "Let It Go" recording skit was parodied boxer Manny Pacquiao's well-known insistence on rendering a tune or two for a crowd.
There was also that moment when both Drake and Lance Stephenson blew in Paul George's ear -- a nod to the ear-blowing incident involving Stephenson and Lebron James during the NBA Playoffs.
But the night was also a time for some serious tributes. ESPY honored SportsCenter anchor Stuart Scott with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award, for his courageous fight against cancer.
