YouTube sensation Michelle Phan is being sued by Ultra Records and Ultra International Music Publishing for copyright infringement, according to Billboard.
Phan is known for her makeup and beauty tips, which has gotten her 6.6 million followers on YouTube since she began imparting her knowledge to the world on the video-sharing site back in 2007.
Ultra Records is reportedly saying that Michelle Phan has been using music from a collection of its huge artists without permission, according to TMZ.
The suit, which was filed on Wednesday in Los Angeles, reportedly names Kaskade an artist that she frequently uses for the YouTube videos. Her video titled "Night Life Favorites" uses his song "4AM" and has been viewed 1.4 million times.
The Phan videos in question have gathered more than 150 million views, according to the gossip website.
The companies are reportedly seeking an injunction to stop Phan's use of the music and either maximum statutory damages of $150,000 for each infringed work or unspecified damages to be determined, according to Reuters.
The plaintiffs reportedly stated that the YouTube star had been made aware that she needs a license for the music she is using "and yet continues to willfully infringe in blatant disregard of Plaintiff's rights of ownership."
