Hipster women will have their flower crowns, and men will have, well, flowers in their beards.
Guys with beards are keeping up with the newest trends, and are now adding blossoms and foliage to their facial hair to stand out, at least in artistic portraits on social media.
The peculiar trend first gained popularity on Tumblr via Pierre Thiot and his project of putting anything in his beard to see if they stick.
The project, which Thiot and his wife, Stacy, document on his Will It Beard website, started with a single pen.
"Over Christmas break, my mom had her grandkids do a talent show for her [she's an adorable grandma]. I tried to put as many pencils as possible in it for my 'talent.' I got over 20. Needless to say, my mother was very proud," Thiot told Buzzfeed in February.
Thiot and his wife broadened their project, which then gradually morphed to include stacks of pencils, raw noodles, dum dums, straws, toothpicks, Legos, lit matches, and finally, foliage.
His flower beard photo became the inspiration of many rugged, tattooed, hairy men around the world, most especially in places like Brooklyn, Portland and San Francisco.
Now, men with bushy beards started sporting their own collections of flowers, leaves and to get the forest fairy vibe.
