Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt will co-star once again on the big screen for the new film called "By The Sea," which will be distributed by Universal Pictures studios.
Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will co-star and perform production roles in front or behind the camera for "By The Sea," as both actors play major roles that will make the film materialize, Reuters reported.
For one, Angelina has written, will direct and act on the film, while Brad will also serve as her co-star and co-producer for the film.
On the other hand, Universal Pictures announced on July 18th that it was able to acquire the worldwide rights of the film's release, MTV News said.
"Angelina continues to showcase her extraordinary storytelling abilities in front of and behind the camera and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with her on 'By the Sea'," Universal Pictures chairwoman Donna Langley said in a statement.
Information about "By The Sea" and its plot has not been disclosed yet, only that Universal Pictures, through a press release, refer to the film as an "intimate, character-driven drama."
This is not the first time that Angelina Jolie has ventured to directing and producing a film. The "Maleficent" star made a directorial debut in the Golden Globe-nominated "In the Land of Blood and Honey," and her latest directorial project (a first with Universal Pictures) is the film "Unbroken," which, according to IMDB is "A chronicle of the life of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who was taken prisoner by Japanese forces during World War II."
The film, which is based on a 2010 non-fiction bestseller titled Unbroken: "A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption" written by Laura Hillenbrand will come to theaters on Christmas day.
"I am very happy to continue my relationship with Donna and the entire Universal team as I finish 'Unbroken' and begin work on 'By The Sea.' They have created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker," Angelina Jolie said on her second directorial collaboration with Universal Pictures.
This would be the second time for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to co-star in the film after 2005's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."
