Soccer super star David Beckham has plans of building a 20,000 seat stadium in downtown Miami but there are talks that his is having a hard time finding a suitable location in the area. Because of this, Beckham's men are looking towards the Broward County to find a spot to build the arena.

Broward Mayor Barbara Sharief has asked her constituents from 31 cities to provide a list of probable sites for the Major League Soccer Stadium. According to Sharief "He has $400 million to invest in a soccer stadium. He doesn't want any tax dollars. He has his own money. He was disappointed with his treatment in Miami."

But Miami-Dade Mayor, Carlos Gimenez is insisting that the Miami Beckham United is still considering sites in Miami. According to his Spokesman, Michael Hernandez "Nothing has changed. He spoke to them again last week and they told him they were searching for sites in Miami-Dade County. We are going to continue working with them. We want soccer in Miami-Dade County."

On the other hand, Broward Commissioner Stacy Ritter told reporters that she has reached out to Beckham's lobbyist and suggested to consider their location saying "I gave him a call and said 'I see things aren't going so well in Miami. Have you considered Broward?' He called me back two days later and said they are open to all alternatives."

Beckham's real estate adviser, John Alschuler, refused to talk about the details of the transaction saying "We don't discuss specifics of proposals. We're still working hard to give the South Florida public what they want and deserve and we're in the process of evaluating potential stadium sites in Miami-Dade County. However, we have always said that there are other communities that would welcome an MLS club owned by David and his partners."

Also, Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy Cooper has contacted Beckham's lobbyist inviting them to take a look at a private land in her own city. She said "If South Florida loses a team like this; it would be a sin. They said they are reviewing multiple sites that are still on their radar. They're still scouting."
