Robbie Lawler has been signed by UFC President Dana White to a long term eight-fight extension. The contract signing please White excessively that he keeps on talking about it. For Dana, Lawler has a lot of potential left for him. Though fresh from losing the fight against Johny Hendricks, Dana sees that Lawler has lots of room to improve himself and knew that there will be a lot of exciting fights waiting ahead for the 32 year old California native.

Although some doubted his performance and whether he has already polished his skills, the fight with Jake Ellenberger made people believe in his enormous talent. According to Lawler "That fight was a really good showing for me. Ellenberger is a really good opponent and I was sharp that night. [The American] Top Team did a lot building me up for the Hendricks fight and we just pushed right into the Ellenberger fight. I was better that day than I ever was in my career and that's what's going to happen again [against Brown]."

With that said, the fight between Lawler and Brown will be something to look out for. Brown has won seven fights in a row which includes six of them ending a finish.

Brown is the player that nobody believed in during the start of his career. He started form the bottom of the ladder working his way up until he got to where he is right now. During his climb up, he fought battles of heroin addiction which he nearly got killed.

Although Brown was been winning games, a lot still doubt his ability to move up but he proved them all wrong by winning a title shot.

But Lawler is not someone to be outdone. He said that he is impressed by Brown's story and like the way he plays inside the octagon. He said "I like his story and I like the kind of fighter he is. I like that he just brings it at all times and looks to beat people up. He doesn't back down from anyone and it's an awesome story. I really like what he brings to the table."

For Lawler, what's important is that he has learned to prepare for his fights saying "The one thing I've learned is how to prepare and be my best. All I want to do is be the best fighter in the building that night and if I am, I'm sure I'll be fine."
