Peaches Geldof, who passed away in April at her home in Wrotham, Kent, died of a heroin overdose after relapsing, despite attempts to give up the illegal drug, an inquest heard Wednesday, according to CNN.

The 25-year-old TV host had reportedly been supported by drug treatment for 2 ½ years, being prescribed methadone, stated Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham of Kent police.

Peaches Geldof has reportedly said she wanted to come off methadone completely and was following a reduction plan. Although a drug test in November indicated that the mother of two was not using drugs, witnesses reported that she was suspected of using heroin again in February, according to the news outlet.

Further search of Peaches Geldof's home confirmed the cause of death to be related to heroin use. Police found a black cloth bag containing heroin, citric acid, used to make the heroin more soluble in water for injection and syringes, according to Fotheringham's report.

Some of the syringes contained traces of brown residue. The heroin found had a purity of 61%, compared with the average 26% purity found at street level, according to a police drug expert.

The cause of death was further explained when a pair of knotted black tights was found under Geldof's body and a spoon containing a small amount of brown residue in the bowl was found under the bed, according to Fotheringham.

Geldof's mother, Paula Yates, had passed away with the cause of death being drug overdose as well.

Although Kent police continue to investigate who supplied heroin to the daughter of musician Bob Geldof, no arrests have been made yet.

"There is no indication that any other third party was present or involved in her death and there is no indication that Peaches intended to take her own life or harm herself in any way as she was reportedly to be of happy disposition and planning for the future with friends and family," concluded Fotheringham's report.
