Talk about brutal honesty. In the August/September 2014 issue of Complex Magazine, singer Lana Del Rey, 29, divulged more details about herself, including her new song "F***ed My Way Up To The Top.
And while the title is very much provocative, Del Rey says it wasn't really like that in real life. "It's commentary, like, 'I know what you think of me,' and I'm alluding to that," the Ultraviolence singer said. "You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying."
Del Rey also confessed that she likes "a physical love." "I like a hands-on love. How can I say this without getting into too much trouble? I like a tangible, passionate love," she says. "For me, if it's isn't physical, I'm not interested. Everything else is so hard; hopefully love is the one thing that is actually fun."
With so much talk about love and romance, Del Rey also shared the worst advice she ever received-"love doesn't come easily and that relationships are supposed to be a struggle." The singer, who hails from New York, said that she was ultimately the person who destroyed her relationship with Barrie-James O'Neill, his former boyfriend and fiancé for three years.
"Definitely demolished that through tons of depression and insecurity," she said. "Now it's just an untenable relationship, impossible because of my emotional instability... The world was heavy for a couple years."
But things are looking up for Del Rey, who has moved on since the split. Earlier this July, she was photographed getting cozy with fashion photographer Francesco Carrozzini, rumored to be her new beau.
And if you have some beef with the singer, she says that she doesn't really pay attention. "The good thing about catching so much grief from critics is that you literally do not f**king care," she tells Complex. "It put me in a mind frame where I expect things not to go right, because they generally don't."
