"Big Brother" season 16 housemate Frankie Grande, who also happens to be Ariana Grande's older brother, received devastating news of his grandfather's death while inside the Big Brother House.
The untimely news broke out during the reality TV show's live feed. Prior to the announcement, "Big Brother" gathered all of the housemates in the living room where Frankie was given the opportunity to tal about his grandfather's battle with cancer - twice, according to Examiner.
Frankie's grandfather, has previously battled stomach cancer and colon cancer and his third fight with the disease caused him his dear life on Tuesday. However, pop superstar Ariana Grande decided to honor her grandfather's wish to keep the news under wraps to Frankie so he stays in the competition, TMZ noted.
The YouTube sensation was then sent to the Diary Room where he was handed a letter from his family informing him of his grandfather's death. Multiple sources confirmed that he will be allowed to send them a letter as well.
Meanwhile, the Frankie's urged him to continue on with the competition, especially since he was chosen as of the three members of America's secret alliance, and as a fulfillment of his grandfather's final wishes.
Following his grandfather's death, Frankie decided to open up to one of the housemates, he was once in a close alliance with - Caleb. However, audiences and critics of the show noticed that Caleb's motives were not necessarily genuine, Bustle reported.
In other news, one of Frankie's closest friends in the house, Zach, didn't take the devastating news all too well himself.
On Twitter, Big Brother Leak also made the news public and wrote, "Frankie's grandfathers death has hit Zach. Zach is crying in the lounge alone. Zach: This sucks!"
Frank Grande's funeral will be on Saturday, July 26, Examiner has said.
