US defender DaMarcus Beasley has signed with the Houston Dynamo, as announced by the Major League Soccer Team.

Dynamo had traded their midfielder Warren Creaville to Toronto in order to obtain the rights to sign Beasley who is also the first American to play in four World Cups. Beasley was part of the starters for all four matches for Jurgen Klinsmann.

Dynamo coach Dom Kinnear said "DaMarcus has had a great career, as we saw at the World Cup. To bring in a player of his quality is a big plus for the team"

Beasley has appeared 11 World Cup appearances. He mainly plays as a winger on the left of the midfielder but he has also been playing as a left-back.

Beasley's history started off as a star of the Chicago Fire playing as the most prominent player in the Major League for the team. He was then purchased by Dutch club PSV Eindhoven during the 2004 season. He has also score more goals in Europe's highest club competition, the UEFA Champions League, than any other American player, and is the first and only American to play in four FIFA World Cups.

He started his international career having been capped over 120 times for the US National Team. He was also a key part of the United States team that won the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2002, 2005, 2007, and 2013. For the 2013 Gold Cup, Beasley was the team's captain.

Dynamo president Chris Canetti was delighted in signing Beasley saying "When it became known around the first week of July that DaMarcus Beasley was looking to come back to MLS, we threw our hat in the ring and expressed interest with the league and with his agent Richard Motzkin. We played a pretty vital role in eventually getting the contract signed with the league over the course of the weeks. We were part of the driving force behind that."

He added "Given that we had expended energy time and effort into making the signing happen, we wanted to make sure that the process could see its way through and that he ended up with us."He continued"I am thrilled that DaMarcus will be joining our club. It's exciting to have a player with such decorated credentials here with us."
