Charlize Theron was spotted sporting a brand new ring on her left finger at the Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday, sparking rumors that the actress is engaged to her boyfriend, actor Sean Penn.

The news comes hot on the heels of rumors that the Hollywood couple are already at a stage in their relationship when they are seriously considering marriage. According to an US Weekly report, Charlize Theron and Sean Penn want to tie the know real soon, and that "Sean is revitalized by Charlize."

Reports from People magazine says that Charlize is likewise smitten by Sean. "[Charlize] likes guys with more substance. She finds Sean charming and he makes her laugh."

Although the two have reportedly been friends for 18 years, it was only very recently when their friendship blossomed into romance. The couple has been together for the last eight months.

The couple's relationship was first revealed by TV show host Piers Morgan in an article that appeared in the Daily Mail UK. According to Morgan, the couple confirmed that they are dating at Sean Penn's January 11 Haiti fundrasier.

Charlize Theron and Sean Penn attended their first red carpet event as a couple after the Academy Awards this year. They stepped out together at the Fame and Philanthropy Post-Oscar Party at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills They also attended the party hosted by Madonna, who happens to be Penn's ex-wife.

Recently the couple has wrapped up filming for the movie The Last Face, in Theron's home, South Africa. Penn is directing the film, in which Theron is starring in.

The couple may not just be getting hitched soon, they also might have plans of having children. US Weekly reports that sources close to the 38-year-old actress say that she "always intended to have another child," to add to the one that she has adopted, 2-year-old boy named Jackson.

If wedding bells do ring, this will be the third marriage for Penn, and the first for Theron.
