Kesha Puts Rehab Days For Anorexia And Bulimia Behind Her; Shares About Her Experience On ABC

Kesha rehab stint is over and the singer shares about rehab in January for anorexia and bulimia. Her mother claimed that condition almost left her for dead.

She has now made a full recovers and the 27-year-old pop star says she has "let color into my life" during an interview on Good Morning America on Thursday in New York City. "I'm doing really well. Thanks for asking," she said. "I've been overwhelmed. The amount of love and support I've received is insane. It was really touching. I'm so grateful for it."

Kesha's color also shows on the outside as she sports a new baby blue do. She explains that she is coloring her hair will different colors because "I feel like I'm a rainbow. This is my new thing. I'm a rainbow. ...Before I used to dress a lot in black. And Now I've let color into my life. It's very metaphorical."

With all the hardships she had to go through, Kesha says she had to learn to filter, "Just really learning to block out negativity and not letting hateful messages get to me, because I've received some pretty hateful things."

There was a point when she almost died as a result, according to her mother. "[The doctors] told me her blood pressure and sodium were so low they'd never seen that, except with someone who'd had a heart attack or stroke. They said it was a miracle she hadn't dropped dead onstage."

The singer's battle with eating disorders were ruled by the industry pressure to be thin. She went into rehab and spent about two months at a treatment facility outside of Chicago for what she says were eating disorder issues. There were also rumors that there was alcohol involved.

Whatever it is, we're glad she came out of it and had the courage to ask for help.
