"The Big Bang Theory" actress Mayim Bialik scores her next stint on the boob tube as she hosts the upcoming revival of "Candid Camera," alongside Peter Hunt. The announcement about her being the new co-host of the TV Land show was made last Thursday,
"Candid Camera" was first aired in 1948. Throughout its run until 2004, it has undergone many incarnations and has been hosted by a number of TV personalities. The show's revival will have 10 episodes. It is scheduled to make its debut on August 11, 2014, reported hollywoodreporter.com.
Unlike "The Big Bang Theory," which is a comedy sitcom, "Candid Camera" is more like a reality show. Its premise involves eliciting a spontaneous, natural response from people as they are confronting either a peculiar or a challenging circumstance. All these are captured by a hidden camera, hence the show's title.
"The Big Bang Theory" actress Mayim Bialik, who played the title role of Blossom as a teenager, was well known for her role as Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on the CBS sitcom. In hosting "Candid Camera," she is slated to share the stage with Peter Funt, son of the original host and creator of the show, Allen Funt.
The revival, which will air initially on Monday (August 11) at 8 p.m., is also scheduled to air its original episodes on August 12, 13 and 14 at the same time. By August 19, it will move to its regular Tuesday time slot. Viewers will be treated to the show's encore episodes during the whole week on the same period.
According to hollywoodreporter.com, "The Big Bang Theory" actress Mayim Bialik is thrilled to have the chance to work with TV Land, Electus and Peter Funt. The upcoming revival is the reality show's latest incarnation and as always, it is expected to maintain its lighthearted, humorous premise.
