It seems like Andre Johnson has put his trouble with the Houston Texans aside as he arrived at the team's camp training last Friday on time and all smiles.
He has realized that the issue between him and the team were not serious enough and he has decided to move past the offseason issue and work with the team. It can be remembered that Johnson skipped workouts and a mandatory minicamp as he wondered whether he was still fit to be with the Texans.
For Johnson "I love playing this game of football. I'm going to play football and ... I don't plan on walking away from this."
Although not keen to tell the reason why he returned to the Texans, he instead reiterates his excitement to be back with the team and his future plans to be with the Texans.
It's not only Johnson who is excited for his decision, his teammates are also happy that he has returned in which he received a standing ovation when he entered a meeting on Friday.
According to left tackle Duane Brown "He's a huge part of our team. He's been my teammate my whole time here and is a guy that I really look up to as a professional and it was good to have him in the building."
Johnson has been with the Texans for 12 years. He has been the longest tenured Texan as he joined the team in its second season. Johnson said "I've been here 12 years. There have been a lot of things that happened. 'I've never really voiced my opinion on them. I think at times there comes a time when you don't agree with something, things need to be said. That's pretty much what it was."
According to Johnson, the reason why he feels unhappy is that he has been with the team for the longest time yet he still feels that his opinion is not valued saying "'It gets frustrating. After what happened last year, we went 2-14 and things like that, it wasn't only frustrating for me, I understand it was frustrating for everybody." Jackson will continue to play for the team but this time, with renewed confidence.
