Pat Riley, Confident that Miami Heat will Remain Competitive

Miami Heat President Pat Riley strongly believed that Four-time MVP LeBron James will be returning to his team. He has been confident with pursuing other players with the thought of having James around. On Riley's part, he was not told by James that he will be leaving the team not until he heard the news that James has decided to go back to the Cavaliers.

Riley said "I went into it with the thought and the notion that he was coming back and I was selling that to players. I believed that firmly so I was selling that to players. And that's the only way I went into it. I let him know that. . He never said to me, 'No, don't do that." But he did feel like James had misled him during his free agency.

Now that his star player has flown away, Riley kicked his gear for his backup plan and that is signing Chris Bosh to a max contract followed by having Dwyane Wade back to the team. It was because of the situation that Riley feels determined to building another champion team in the Heat.

Riley talked about how he felt after James announced his decision saying "I don't get hurt. This is business. This is all business. As soon as something happens in this business, I had to react, we had to react as an organization, and we did."

For Riley, his team is still one of the best noting that he has two Hall of Famers in his hands, Bosh and Wade. Aside from that, Heat was also able to sign up some of the top free agents Luol Deng and Josh McRoberts.

Miami Heat had a different way of addressing the issue of James leaving the team. Instead of ranting about it, Heat managing general partner Micky Arison wrote an open letter to their fans telling them than even without James around, the franchise's goal still remains the same and that is to accumulate more championships.

Riley said "We're going to try to make it another generational team." Fans will definitely be looking forward with the Miami Heat's new team line up.
