Hilary Duff's 'Chasing The Sun' music video was released a day after being leaked on SoundCloud, much to the delight of many fans.
It has gone viral on Youtube, with more than 6 million views as of this writing. 'Chasing The Sun' was released ahead of her fifth studio album under RCA, which will be hitting music stores this fall.
The singer gave credit to her fans who had waited for a long time to listen to her sing a new song, most especially her 'Lizzie McGuire' fans. She told HollywoodLife that followers of the show stayed “really loyal” throughout her whole career.
Duff believes that the Disney show, 'Lizzie McGuire,' had been kept in the hearts of the girls who watched it in the past, “because I feel like it meant so much to girls in that crucial time in their life where they’re changing and feeling awkward.”
When asked what Lizzie would think of Hilary Duff's 'Chasing The Sun' music video or the song in general, the singer insisted that she would have loved it.
“Oh my god. I think she’d love it! That’s so funny to me, I don’t know what she’s doing right around now,” Duff said about her animated friend.
Part of the hype for the 26-year-old's new single is because of her seven-year-long hiatus. The actress-singer's last album, 'Dignity' was released in 2007 and a lot of changes have happened in her life since then.
“I guess I felt like my I had done everything I wanted to do, and I really missed that part of my life,” the 'Come Clean' singer said in the exclusive interview with HollywoodLife.
Duff said that she had missed the recording studio, the whole “creative process of making a record,” and meeting and performing for her fans.
With her son growing up well, she wanted to share what she learned in the past seven years as a mother of one. She had stayed out of the limelight in the past six years after giving birth to her son, Luca, living a normal life with her husband, Mike Comrie.
The singer explained, “I felt like I had been home with my son and really learned how to be a great mom and I felt so connected to him that I felt like I could branch out a little bit and do things that make me happy now, and challenge myself again.”
