Sherri Shepherd Latest News: TV Show Host’s Surrogate Due To Give Birth Any Time Soon, Custody Of The Unborn Baby Remains Unclear
Sherri Shepherd Latest News: Former "The View" co-host's surrogate is due to give birth any time soon however the custody of the unborn child is yet to be determined. According to TMZ Shepherd wants nothing to do with the unborn child anymore.
"The date for [our surrogate] to deliver is the 31st. [She's due] any time this week, actually. I am on baby watch," Shepherd's estranged husband Lamar Sally told PEOPLE.
According to Los Angeles Superior Court documents, Sally has asked for full legal and physical custody of their unborn son. However report says that no agreement has been reached between the former couple regarding the child's custody.
"It's still unclear what's going on," said Sally.
According to Classicalite, multiple sources connected with the couple said that "Shepherd does not want anything to do with her unborn surrogate baby...because she believes her estranged husband defrauded her into having the kid in the first place so he could get child support. The baby was conceived with Lamar's sperm, but NOT Sherri's egg...Sherri wants a judge to rule she has no parental rights or responsibilities--which would shut the door to child support."
Reportedly, the baby, who's set to be born later this month, was formed through the union of a donated egg and Sally's sperm.
Freenewspos reported that "Sally requested that Shepherd only have "reasonable" visitation rights in addition to asking for custody of the baby in his separation papers. He also asked for an order preventing her from interfering with the baby being given to him after he's born. He asked for spousal support and for Shepherd to pay his attorney fees. Sally also asked that the couple's prenup be invalidated based on fraud."
On the other hand, Shepherd has recently won a custody battle over her 9-year-old son from Jeffrey Tarpley after an L.A. County Court hearing.
