"House of Cards" season 3 spoilers revealed that President Frank Underwood might focus on Russia as the series is reportedly gearing up for a long run.
Rumors have been circulating that Frank Underwood would be killed off this season as there's nowhere for him to go but down after grabbing the presidency.
In an earlier interview with Breathecast, however, executive producer Rick Cleveland said that the show will continue as long as both Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are still interested in playing their respective characters.
If the show will follow the same trajectory of the British series "The Final Cut," where the Netflix series was based on, Claire Underwood would have her husband killed in order to protect his legacy as president, rather than see his downfall.
Meanwhile, the Latin Times proposed "House of Cards" season 3 spoilers when it surmised that Russia would be the main focus of this season, just like it touched on foreign diplomacy with China in season 3.
"First, there will be a 'formidable' new Russian character ... and secondly, the show tried to film in Russia," it said.
If that's the case, then "House of Cards" had a shaky beginning after its request to film inside the UN Security Council's chambers was nixed by Russia early this month. The Russian envoy said that the council should be available at all times in case it needs to convene for an emergency meeting.
Creator Beau Willimon revealed "House of Cards" season 3 spoilers via Twitter Q&A that Doug Stamper won't live long enough to see how Frank Underwood will handle the presidency.
In "House of Cards" season 2, chapter 26, Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) was bludgeoned by Rachel Posner with a rock while he chased him into the woods. However, his eyes twitched which means there's still hope that he would survive.
Earlier "House of Cards" season 3 spoilers claimed that he will be back, whether it will be a corpse or not is not clear, because the first episode of the third season will have police investigating his death.
