New updates for Square Enix next installment of the Kingdom Hearts series, Kingdom Hearts 3 have been revealed.

According to reports from Examnier.com, Tetsuya Nomura will reveal his plans for Kingdom Hearts 3 along with Final Fantasy XV in this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Gameranx further elaborates that although he is attending the event, he most likely won't be showing off his latest projects, FFXV and Kingdom Heats 3.

Square Enix has already confirmed their lineup of games in San Diego Comic-Con 2014, which does not include FFXV and Kingdom Hearts 3. Instead, they will feature Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris, Nosgoth as well as spin-off titles from the Final Fantasy and Hitman series. Square Enix also will be sharing a booth with Deep Silver, the publisher of Metro Redux and Sacred 3. Tetsuya Nomura will be signing autographs to fans along with Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima.

Despite skipping several events, a Square Enix producer previously hinted that fans could hear more about FFV and Kingdom Hearts 3 in other conventions later this year. Tetsuya Nomura is co-directing the game with Tai Yasue as the game is being ported to the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

Sora voice actor Haley Joel Osment was recently interviewed by IGN regarding Kingdom Hearts 3's status.

"I am not allowed to share, we've done a couple of installments on paper, [I'm] not allowed to share anything about it. I know Kingdom Hearts fans are really loyal and won't be disappointed by whatever we get around to in future."

In other news, savecontinue.com reports that Final Fantasy characters Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie are rumored to return in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Tidus

Wakka

Selphie

Gaming fans wanted to see the grown up versions of Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie. These three characters originally appeared in the first game as childhood friends of Sora, Kairi, and Riku in Destiny Island.

Square Enix game producer Shinji Hashimoto talked about the status of Kingdom Hearts 3. Fans were disappointed that both Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV are not present in E3 2014 last month.

"We are are working diligently on KH3, but I think releasing new information will still take some time. We included a small part regarding the story of KH3 In the new trailer KH 2.5 prepared for E3 2014, so please check that out."

Hashimoto further teased fans by stating that the official date of the game is still a "secret" and that gaming fans will have to wait for the big surprise.
