Jason Mraz' healthy lifestyle has become a big part of his composing as well as his life in general. He even runs a farm where he grows avocados, mangoes and other organic produce. He also spends time making and sharing his music in this ranch.

"We're growing our own food, so I love to spoil people with healthy, locally grown organic food—and then, through that sense of ease and comfort, creating music at the same time,” the Grammy winner told Fuse about his personal retreat space during an episode of 'Top 20 Countdown.'

The fruits of Jason Mraz' songwriter retreats was shown in the series of live performances he uploaded on his Youtube channel where he performed his new songs to an intimate audience at the Mraz Avocado Farm.

He likes bringing people to his personal retreat area where songwriters can experience nature and mingle with animals. He tends to write songs in a relaxed and chill atmosphere.

Despite his series of number one songs Mraz insists that these retreats don't have to end up with 'smash hits.'

"We're not trying to reach some 'smash hit' outcome; this isn't going to be a forced thing,” Mr. A-Z said about his songwriting time. “If something is born, great! And if not, we'll try again tomorrow.”

The award-winning singer also admits that he isn't good at composing “confessional” songs. He thinks there are a lot of great records with that kind of feel but he thinks he wouldn't be as good writing those compared to his current style.

I feel like my strength is in the small victories I have in writing and in my own life of making my day better, or healing something,” the songwriter added.

With results like 'Love Someone,' 'The Remedy' and 'I'm Yours,' Jason Mraz' songwriting retreats are definitely effective and very productive.
