Guillermo Ochoa, the Mexico goalkeeper has finally moved and sealed a three-year deal to La Liga side Malaga.
The 29-year-old Mexican stopper was one of the exceptional players during the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil, and on Friday he signed a contract with the Spanish club.
On Malaga's website, a statement was published that says: "Malaga has reached an agreement to sign one of the best goalkeepers of the recent World Cup in Brazil, Francisco Guillermo Ochoa Magaña."
His contract with relegated Ligue 1 side AC Ajaccio expired this summer and he was a free agent while he took his time looking for a new club before officially signing for La Liga side Malaga on Friday.
Ochoa had spent three seasons with Ajaccio before he was surprisingly dubbed as Mexico's first-choice keeper at the World Cup. He was able to help Miguel Herrera's side reach the last 16, and was excellent in helping his team hold hosts Brazil to a 0-0 draw during the group stage.
He was one of the hottest free agent due to his sensational performances in the World Cup. A number of clubs linked with signing the Mexican athlete after his performances in Brazil-one of which is Arsenal. However, the club opted to sign Colombia keeper David Ospina instead.
The Mexican athlete is widely expected to become the club's new starter after Willy Caballero's transfer to Manchester City. He also told reporters playing in Spain is "a dream" for him. Ochoa will get the opportunity to show that he is indeed one of the elite and lustrous players at the position in one of the strongest league on the planet.
His transfer to La Liga side Malaga might perhaps be a perfect combo made from heaven.
