Wes Brown is now in the final year of his contract at Sunderland, however declares no thought of renewing his deal.
With all admittance the defender appreciates that inevitable questions will be raised regarding the span of his stay in the field and as to how long he can continue his career-with injuries taken to account as well as the fact that he is about to turn 35 in October.
Brown being a former Manchester United man, has no clear intentions of retiring at this point, but plans to play at the top level and give off his best potentials for as long as it is possible for him.
His stay at the Stadium of Light remains to be seen in the near future whether he will be given the opportunity to prolong a four-year stint. However, the athlete insists that his focus as of now is locked on enjoying a productive campaign. He admitted that to this point, he is not thinking over his future for there is not point.
"I just want to play as well as I can this season, hopefully stay in the ream and then see what happens."
"I have played football all my life so it is not just something I am going to quit straightaway if it is possible to carry on."
Brown furthered that he is not the kind of person who does not like football or worse, becomes bored with it. He said that he will play as much as he can-until his legs wear off.
"It was always niggles with me. I always felt stuff and then carried on and made it worse. It took me a while.
As an experienced defender, he realizes that he needs to be watchful and careful of his body in order to remain competitive despite of his knee problems that have kept him on sidelines at regular intervals in the past few recent years.
"Now, if I feel anything, I stop and then in a few days it has gone. You just have to manage yourself like that."
