Since Juan Manuel Marquez hit such an incredible stride, his detractors also did. The Mexican is still being accused of using steroids in his previous fights and there’s only so much fans can do but to wait for his next fight-and his next drug test.

Speaking of his next fight, the anticipated Pacquiao-Marquez 5 bout is still uncertain, as Pacman coach Freddie Roach stated that Marquez wants almost $20 million for the fight.

From Sweet Science.com: "Roach says that a reasonable amount for Marquez to make for the fight is $10 million only, according to thesweetscience.com. But with Marquez asking for $20 million, it means that a fight can't take place between them."

However, in a recent interview with Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum, he debunked all allegations that there was an exact figure that 'El Dinamita' has demanded. From ABS-CBN: "Marquez hasn't asked for $2 million, $10 million or $20 million. He has never asked for anything or discuss the fight with us. Those stories are also made up. Marquez was supposed to meet up with me in New York last weekend at the Cotto fight. He couldn't make it because there was a death in his family. I haven't talked at all with Marquez. That's just made-up nonsense and they're negotiating on the Internet."

Some critics are still on JMM's case, as they chide that he needs a large amount for 'medical expenses.' From the Philippine star, sports columnist Joaquin Henson cited that Marquez was different in the fight against Bradley-who demanded a more thorough drug test procedure:

"Marquez fought and looked differently against Pacquiao and Alvarado than against Bradley. In fact, it was like night and day. Marquez showed up for his fourth encounter with Pacquiao looking like a poster boy for a muscle magazine. His six-pack put steroid-laced wrestlers to shame. Mixed martial arts fighter Chael Sonnen said Marquez 'miraculously went through puberty a second time.'"(Sonnen was quoted in the Pacquiao-Marquez fight of 2012). It is certain that whoever agrees to a Marquez fight will ask for VADA drug testing, which is similar to the Olympic procedure. The insinuation is that they will need to 'formulate' better drugs that would not be detected. Of course, there is no evidence of this and Marquez has yet to fail any drug test he has taken.
