"The Big Bang Theory" season 8 news updates seem to be positive as reports pointed to production officially starting on Wednesday, which could mean that the September 22 airing date will still push though.
According to "The Big Bang Theory" news reported by Deadline, negotiations for the contracts of Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are still ongoing which scrapped the scheduled table read last week.
"For now there is no danger of Big Bang not being able to make its hourlong premiere on September 22. There is talk that the delay might lead to a minimal order reduction from 24 to 23 episodes," the website said, but rumors are rife that production can be extended or hiatus will be shortened in order to prevent that from happening.
Multiple reports revealed that Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki are asking for about $1 million per episode along with their back-end ownership, while Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are asking to close the gap in the salary of their co-stars.
London's Telegraph also reported more "The Big Bang Theory" news when it said that the delay in production can be attributed to the separate negotiations initiated by each of the representatives of the cast.
The reps are also waiting for the contract offer of the other cast members to make sure they don't get the raw end of the deal, the publication said, adding that accelerated talks should have results by the time the weekend was over.
Creator Chuck Lorre remains optimistic about the outcome of the negotiations. "There are people at WBTV and people representing the actors who have done this before. This will work itself out. I think it's great; I want them all to be crazy wealthy because nobody deserves it more than this cast," he said, according to theTelegraph.
